Every year during Amsterdam Dance Event, international online platform for electronic music Resident Advisor organises a fundraising football tournament in De School, a nightclub, restaurant, exhibition space and gym in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. Sixteen teams representing nightclubs, record shops and artist agencies participated – and with a combination of online fundraising, door sales, and jersey auctions, together raised £10,000 for feminist activism!
Amy Van-Baaren of Resident Advisor: “This is the third edition of the Resident Advisor Cup, and we’re really interested in being able to support initiatives and good causes around the world. We chose Mama Cash in conjunction with De School because we wanted to focus on local charities doing amazing work on a global network, and we thought your organisation was doing amazing work. There’s a lot of backlash at the moment so for me personally, I thought it was a really important time for us to be putting a stake in the ground and championing the rights of women around the world. Mama Cash is doing a great job and I’m really glad we could support that.”
