The Board and staff of Mama Cash are excited to welcome Zohra Moosa as our new Executive Director!
Zohra is a passionate feminist activist who has been contributing to Mama Cash as Director of Programmes since 2013. Prior to that she was with Action Aid (UK) and the Fawcett Society, one of the oldest and best known feminist organisations in the UK. In addition to her deep commitment to feminist politics, Zohra brings with her a background in communications, a focus on knowledge and learning, and a seemingly insatiable curiosity about the world and where it’s going.
Mama Cash is one of the world’s largest public funds that supports the rights of women, girls, trans and intersex people around the world. The challenges our movements face are many and complex, and we are confident that Zohra’s tenacity, skill and vision will guide and support Mama Cash into a new era.
Together with the strong team of staff and volunteers, Zohra will help secure Mama Cash’s financial health into the future, allowing us to continue to support feminist movements worldwide. Zohra is also well placed to maintain the strong public reputation of Mama Cash and keep our organisation true to its activist roots.
Please join us in welcoming Zohra and continuing to celebrate and support feminist activism worldwide!
She will start in her new role as Executive Director on 1 July 2017.
